This document introduces how to install, update and upgrade Primo Ramdisk onto your computer. Before installing, you shall have downloaded the latest Primo Ramdisk installer for desired edition from the link: Download Primo Ramdisk.
Installation of Primo Ramdisk is quick and simple. Double click on the downloaded proper installer file to start the installation. When running the installer on Windows Vista or a later version of Windows, a User Account Control window may appear. If it does, choose Yes to allow Primo Ramdisk to install. Don't worry if you don't see this message.
When the installation wizard appears, click Next.
You will need to accept the terms in the license agreement to continue. Click Next.
Select the destination for your Primo Ramdisk installation, and choose additional tasks if you want. When you are finished, click Install.
Primo Ramdisk will install itself automatically.
On Windows Vista or a later version of Windows, you are likely asked to install device driver software. Click Install, otherwise Primo Ramdisk will not work. Don't worry if you don't see this message.
Once installation is complete, click Finish.
If you have an earlier version of Primo Ramdisk already installed, you can let the installer update (overwrite) your existing installation. It is not necessary to uninstall the existing installation.
Double click on the proper installer file to start the update. If you see the following message, click Yes.
Then follow the instructions on the installation wizard. Please refer to New Installation.
Once update is complete, you are likely asked to restart the computer if you have virtual disks currently mounted. You have to restart your computer to apply the new version.
If you have a different edition of Primo Ramdisk already installed and you want to upgrade it to an advanced edition, for example, from Standard Edition to Professional Edition, you can let the installer upgrade (overwrite) your existing installation. Please refer to Update Primo Ramdisk.
Tip: You need to re-activate Primo Ramdisk after upgrade because of different edition activation algorithm. At the end of installation wizard, you may choose "No. I will restart the computer later" and click Finish to exit the wizard. Then run Primo Ramdisk (ignoring possible error message), entering your new license information to activate Primo Ramdisk (see Activate Primo Ramdisk). Now you can restart the computer to apply your new edition and license.
A: You may try installation again. If you still have problems, you may follow the steps below to do a clean installation.
1. Uninstall the existing Primo Ramdisk installation. See Uninstall Primo Ramdisk.
2. Restart your computer.
3. Try installation again. See Install Primo Ramdisk.
