Add, Remove or Modify a Ramdisk

This section is a rapid introduction to opearate a ramdisk that will help you get up and running with VSuite Ramdisk.

Add a new ramdisk

Click on the Ramdisk Tab, and make sure it is in the Creation Mode

Set the properties for the new ramdisk, see details on the properties.

Press the Add button to create a new ramdisk. 

If successful, an entry represents the new created ramdisk will be added into the Ramdisk List.

You may check the Windows My Computer and shall see the newly added ramdisk.

Remove a ramdisk

Click on the ramdisk item which you want to remove in the Ramdisk List to make the item highlighted.

Press the Remove button to delete the specified ramdisk.

Check or modify a ramdisk's properties

Click on the ramdisk item which you want to check or modify in the Ramdisk List to make the item highlighted.

Press the Properties button, or double-click on the item, to see the properties of the specified ramdisk. It will enter the Property Mode if current mode is the Creation Mode. 

Edit the properties if you want to change them, and press the Modify to save the changes. You may need to reboot the computer to make the changes effective.

Press the Back button to exit the Property Mode and return to the Creation Mode.

Re-format/Re-initialize a ramdisk [requires version 4.5 or later]

Click on the ramdisk item which you want to re-initialize in the Ramdisk List to make the item highlighted.

Press the Clear Content button to re-initialize the specified ramdisk. 

This operation is like the "Format" command via Windows Explorer, which will format the ramdisk and delete all data on the ramdisk. However "Clear Content" operation provides a easier way, which will automatically format the ramdisk based on the ramdisk's file system properties, as well as initialize the custom folders. Moreover, "Clear Content" will release RAM occupied by the ramdisk if Dynamic RAM Allocation feature is active.
