Hard crashing after bios update / AMD 7950X / AM5
Posted: Sat Jan 13, 2024 12:34 am
Windows OS: 10 64 bit
Hardware Information
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X
Main Board: MSI Pro X670-P wifi
Memory: 32gb Corsair running at 6000mhz
Hard Drives: 400gb SSD as cache drive / 18tb
PrimoCache Version: latest (4.0.3 I think?)
Screenshot(s) of your PrimoCache's main dialog showing cache configuration and statistics:
Can't as I uninstalled it. Had a two level cache going, about 8gb of RAM and then the entire spare SATA SSD capacity.
Problem Description:
I was experiencing occasional hard crashes (sudden reboots without bluescreen), especially after waking from sleep. I was living with this but it got significantly worse after a bios update to the latest AMD core (AGESA ComboPI 1.1.0.1). I uninstalled Primocache and haven't had a single issue since.
I also had some odd behaviour with Backblaze flagging files for re-upload when they hadn't changed, but that is probably a secondary issue.
Not a very helpful bug report I realise, but it's a start point for investigation.
