L2 cache only for HDD

Post by r6d2 »

Hi! Although I've been using PrimoCache for several years now, I'm a newbie here so please bear with me :)

I have the following questions, all related to the same matter. The thing is I'd like to limit my L1 cache to exclusively serve my NVME/SSD, so:

1. Can I have PrimoCache provide only L2 Cache to my HDDs (R/W support, deferred write enabled)?
2. Does this even make sense, for you more experienced users?
3. If so, should I create different cache tasks for SSDs and HHDs?
4. Any drawbacks I should be aware of if using this approach?

Many thanks in advance.

Yes, you can just use L2 cache. This is one of the functions that the program supports.

It's better to create different cache tasks.
