When I right click any EXE file contained on my RAM disk (Direct-IO, dynamic memory, compact mode), and select "Run as administrator", I get the error "Incorrect function". This affects application installers that extract setup files to a temporary folder and then try to run them with elevated permissions.
This problem does not occur when using a SCSI RAM disk.
OS is Windows 8.1.
Cannot run executables as administrator from Direct-IO disk
Re: Cannot run executables as administrator from Direct-IO d
Hi muf,
Thanks for your feedback!
Currently on Windows 8/8.1, DirectIO mode has some compatibility issues. SCSI ramdisk mode is recommended on such Windows OS.

Ok, I will use SCSI mode in the mean time (although it is slower ). Please let me know when the compatibility issues are fixed, thanks!
