Hi,
I've seen the other thread with 0.9.8 but I think it's better to open a new one for the new version.
I have just installed 0.9.9 on my parents system, I set up SSD only cache and it does not seem to be working. I also updated to 0.9.9 on my system, set up SSD caching and nothing...
I tried hashing the same files over and over and no difference. I tried Crystal Mark, clearly no cache kicking in. L1 works fine though.
I set up MAX cache, and also tried with smaller size, no difference.
Sometimes even the read counter stops.
0.9.6 (I believe that was the one before 0.9.8) worked very well, I did not really test 0.9.8, but this one really has issues. And on two computers here.
Please let me know if you need more details. Although for me it seems like if I simply set up an SSD read cache, it won't work.

0.9.9 L2-Cache not working
Re: 0.9.9 L2-Cache not working
Did you try the solution I've found (following the Developer's suggestions) and posted in 0.9.8 thread?
To make long story short:
- open cmd window as administrator
- type: lodctr /e:PerfDisk
- reboot

Re: 0.9.9 L2-Cache not working
I have tried it now, and it doesn't help .
Re: 0.9.9 L2-Cache not working
Is there any way to download an older version? Unfortunately I did not save them.

So you also see a warning message while opening windows performance monitor?szucsati wrote:I have tried it now, and it doesn't help .
Re: 0.9.9 L2-Cache not working
I checked now on my computer, it seems to be working now... At least the dashboard says there are cache hits. But not sure how. I did not change anything.
On the other one (my parents' computer) still not working, and yes, I do this: This is the system where I tried the command above.
Erm... now I'm very confused. I tried hashing on my parents' computer as well, and there were cache hits.
Then I ran it again, and there were no hits! So it worked for the first run but didn't for the second nor for the third.
I can play with this computer until tomorrow evening (CET), and I have backup, so I'm happy to try whatever you want me to try.

Re: 0.9.9 L2-Cache not working
Run command prompt as administrator and then:
lodctr /r
which repair counter settings in the registry
Then:
lodctr /q > C:\counters.txt
which lists all counters with current status (enabled, disabled) and saves that info to counters.txt file in C:/ directory
Open counters.txt and find:
[PerfDisk] Performance Counters (Enabled)
They should be (Enabled) not (Disabled). If disabled type: lodctr /e:PerfDisk from command line
Then list here all counters (if any) with Disabled status from counters.txt
Especially interesting: [PerfNet], [PerfOS], [PerfProc],[Tcpip]

Re: 0.9.9 L2-Cache not working
I ran the lodctr /q before and after running /r. None of the results had any counters disabled.
Now I don't get the warning message when opening the perfmon tool, but the counters don't change in the GUI.

Re: 0.9.9 L2-Cache not working
The same. First run of hashing: cache hits, second run: nothing.
