enterprise x86 support 4 gb of ram

Can windows 7 enterprise x86 support 4 gb of ram? i'm thinking about upgrading my ram from 2 gb to 4 gb. i currently running windows 7 enterprise x86 and i have some really important programs that i can't afford to get rid of if i have to upgrade to x64. will x86 be able to handle 4 gb of ram?

It supports up to 4GB physical memory, but usually only 3~3.75GB available for use.
