At finally i was able to test Primo Ramdisk Ultimate 5.5.0 in my xp x64 sp2.
I have watched that this version free dynamically the used ram by a ramdisk when i move or delete files.
But not all the used ram is free as i have been tested.
I think that the author may say some technical things related to this feature because as was said here in win xp this feature dont works, but i have seen that in fact works...
thx in advance
Free automatically Dynamic Ram on XP x64
Re: Free automatically Dynamic Ram on XP x64
Well, what's the file size of deleted file in your testing? and how much memory were freed?
Was the virtual disk you created a pure ramdisk or a hybrid-disk?
Thanks.

Re: Free automatically Dynamic Ram on XP x64
it is a ramdisk with the follow characteristics:
- 4096 MB (full system ram)
- direct-IO disk
- Dynamic memory management
- Compact mode
- NTFS
- Create Temp
- Non persistent

Re: Free automatically Dynamic Ram on XP x64
Well ? Some about this fact ?
i am again testing the ultimate 5.5 version and when the files are 'moved' from ramdisk to physic unit, the used ram is automatically fred.
Unafortunatelly this dont happends if we send the files to the recycle.bin and then empty it.
Why the free dynamic ram isnt working with the file delete and yes with the file move ?
I am using xp x64 sp2.

Re: Free automatically Dynamic Ram on XP x64
How you check the "used ram"? Did you test with a large file? And was the freed memory amount almost equal to the file size?
Anyway, I am sorry that the "dynamic memory free" feature is only available on Win 7 or later.
