SUGGESTION: Sharing RAM on Windows 64bit

Post by vonSpalden »

I have a PC using Windows 7, 64 bit with a 960GB Revodrive 350 on the PCIe bus.
With Romex Cache 2.0.0, that's a really fast system.
Since the mb carries 256GB of RAM, and only 192GB can be handled by the operating
system, I have placed the CACHE and a RAMDISK, both latest Romex versions, into
the upper 64GB. Nice feature not to "steal" memory from the operating system.

However, even though the RAMDISK size ist set to be dynamic, the free space it leaves
may not be used by the CACHE program. Too bad !
Now, a nice feature would be to have the CACHE set to maximum size, say 63GB.
The maximum size of the RAMDISK for example set to say 32 GB. Now, when the
RAMDISK is not being used, the CACHE would be able to use 63 GB. When the RAMDISK
is fully used with 32 GB, the CACHE would dynamically shrink to 31 GB.

That would be a REALLY useful feature !
