Win 7 Resource Monitor

Post by magic-man »

With this beta, Win 7 resource monitor no longer shows what files are being written to / read from in the disk activity view.
Not a biggy for many.... Something I can live with... Just a heads up...

The bug that does not show what files are being written to / read from exists only in the VOLUME version, not the DISK version. The DISK version shows the files just fine.

The issue still happens in beta 0.4.0 VOLUME version (not DISK Version)...
This is what resource monitor is supposed to look like (and does in disk version and if you pause the cache in VOLUME version):

This is what it looks like when you are running the VOLUME version with cach enabled:

Everything else seems fine!

sorry, I forgot to answer this question.
If you enable the Defer-Write in the volume edition, then the program will re-schedule writes. So all the writes to the disks are issued by FC program (system threads), then the resource mointor don't know what exact files are being written.
