Re: Overkill?
Hi, as you can see even after a couple of hours only 1,5 GB were totally written and 1,18GB are remaining free. This means a lot of unused cache. Set the cache for this drive to 0,5 GB and see whether the cache statistics reduce significant (write bytes (deferred, urgent) == 0 is best, write deferre...

Re: Overkill?
Click on performance monitor ans leave the window open for a while (couple of hours if possible) and work as appropriate. The cache hit and cache utilization gives you an indication whether 4GB RAM are oversized. A blocksize smaller than 4KB is waste of computing power and RAM, because the cluster s...

Re: Proposal functions
Hi,
keeping in mind that Fancycache ist a cache on block level and not a file cache, therefore not aware of any "files": How can FC detect that a large files is transferred?

Re: deferred write
I still think that an option "flush cache before entering suspend" would be a good idea.
Any thoughts about that ?

Re: Help--F.C. sees ''0'' invisible memory
Hi,
what do you mean with: [AMD 780G] "should" be equivalent to Intel 946 chipset and above or NVIDIA nForce chipset 570 or above ???
Windows XP does not support more than 4 GB >> try a 64-Bit OS or Windows Server OS (Enterprise Edition).

Re: SSD Free Space Cleaner dies using FancyCache
HI, if you want to try the latest Version (1.0 instead of 0.5) take the authors download link: http://alex-is.de/PHP/fusion/downloads.php?cat_id=2&download_id=10 On my machine, merely with Windows 7, Freespacecleaner 1.0 works without problems if FC is stopped. (I did not take a test with FC ena...

AS Cleaner is not a program issued by Microsoft. Did you already asked the author of the program?
Why didn´t you disable FC during the operation of AS Cleaner?

Re: Disk Spindown
Hi Mikk, in my case: even with an idle time of one minute the hd never stops. What I do not understand is that the W7 resource manager does not indicate a process which access the disk. And yes: its the OS disk, but no indexing, no precache, plenty of services disabled, logs of course but FC is acti...
