Re: Optane 905p OS Drive, 2TB SSD & 6TB HDD setup help

Thank you for your correction. Sorry, I forgot to compare the 4K QD1 of these two drives, as the Optane 905P specs don't provide this value. I checked our test data, combined with the test results on the Internet, and found that the 4K QD1 value of the Optane 905P is about 70~90K IOPS for both read ...

Re: Setup advice and "OS Managed Memory" meaning in L1 Cache task configuration

For the 64 GB laptop, to confirm, even with the unusually large amount of RAM, it's best to use total RAM subtracting normal RAM usage plus 1 GB. So for 64 GB total and 20 GB regular use, and 1 GB extra, 43 GB for PrimoCache? You can reserve more RAM for your system in case you need it. So if your ...

Re: Setup advice and "OS Managed Memory" meaning in L1 Cache task configuration

In the settings for the Configure Parameters for New Cache Task i can set "OS Managed Memory (MM)". Does this refer to the memory that: Please see https://www.romexsoftware.com/en-us/primo-cache/terms-configuration.html#L1 After you set L1 cache, this part of physical memory will occupied...

Re: Uninstaled Primocache and now one of my drives doesn't open and file explorer keeps crashing.

I'm sorry to hear that. First of all, I want to confirm that your storage drive was not formatted as L2 cache drive, and only the m.2 drive was formatted as L2 cache drive, right? Then you may physically remove the m.2 drive from the computer and try again. If there are still problems, you may run &...

Re: Dark mode

The focus of our development is cache performance and fixing bugs. The UI is not our focus, because the GUI application is mainly used to set/manage cache tasks and does not need to run all the time. However, I will ask R&D to increase the priority of this feature.

Re: Cache warmup for R4K with ReadyBoost..? Research reqd.

When ReadyBoost was launched, there was no SSDs, only USB flash drives. Since flash drives have faster random 4K speeds but slower sequential reads and writes compared with HDDs, ReadyBoost only caches small files. However, SSD and RAM capacity are large now, and the sequential read and write speed ...
