Re: Are We Able To Load An Image File On Demand?

I just found that we can do this now, and I have recovered all the data that I accidentally deleted. My image file is automatically saved and loaded at windows shutdown and startup respectively. I had never rebooted after deleting the files that I needed, so all I had to do was change the current se...

Are We Able To Load An Image File On Demand?

I had some files that I accidentally deleted on my ram disk using Primo Ramdisk Ultimate Edition 5.7.0. I do have an image file that contains all contents, but I do not see a way that I can load this image file on demand. Is this possible at all? If not, can you please consider adding this feature? ...

Re: Primo doesn't really free the RAM

I did not think that files deleted from Primo Ramdisk could go into the recycle bin. At least they never go there when I delete files from my ram disk. I never set options telling windows not to recycle deleted files. Double checking my recycle bin properties, it is not possible to add a recycle bin...

Re: Ramdisk & Preventing Windows From Swapping

With enough RAM nowadays there's no real need for SWAP-file There are tons of posts all over the Internet that disagree with you. I allow Windows to manage my swap file, because the creators of Windows are a lot smarter than both you and me combined. I trust that they designed Windows 7 correctly t...

Re: Ramdisk & Preventing Windows From Swapping

No. Memory used by ramdisks cannot be swapped out. Thank you. I have changed my settings to no longer use dynamic memory. My only concern was that data on the ramdisk may be swapped out. If there is no chance of that happening, then there is no point in me paying a performance penalty with dynamic ...

Re: Ramdisk & Preventing Windows From Swapping

Please let me rephrase the question to get the answer I am looking for. Windows decides on its own to swap data from memory to my pagefile. Will PrimoRam Disk data that exists in memory be swapped to pagefile? I do not want this to happen, and there is no need for Windows to do this at all. Is Windo...

Re: Will PrimoCache Work On My Workstation?

I took a quick look at this in my BIOS setup. The settings in the main BIOS setup for the workstation do not apply, since the RAID controller has its own independent BIOS. The main BIOS is set for AHCI, but this only applies if the hard drives were connected directly on the mainboard (which they are...

Re: Will PrimoCache Work On My Workstation?

Thanks for the information. It looks like that \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem\NtfsMemoryUsage registry value defaults to zero, so it will be zero on all systems unless it is changed using the fsutil command. I found info on it doing a Google search here: http://socia...

Will PrimoCache Work On My Workstation?

I own a Dell Precision T7600 with a Dell PERC H310 RAID controller. This is the RAID controller that does not have onboard RAM for caching. My two hard drives are not running RAID though. When I view Disk Drives under Device Manager in Windows 7, I see the following for both hard drives under Polici...

Ramdisk & Preventing Windows From Swapping

I recently registered Primo Ramdisk Ultimate Edition after testing it for several days. I ran into no issues during my trial, and it did everything that I was looking for. Great job on the creation of this utility. My setup is simple -- I use only a ramdisk and do not use a physical disk for this ra...
