Re: [2014-04-16] PrimoCache 1.0.1 released!
Ultimately, your competition is not other caching software, but hybrid drives. The typical price difference between a hybrid v.s. non hybrid drive is below $30. So really the only way to justify a higher cost is a richer feature set, enhanced abilities, or greater convenience. Otherwise if you price...

Re: [2014-04-16] PrimoCache 1.0.1 released!
I am wondering when it will be available for purchase? Is there estimated pricing yet? order from here: http://www.romexsoftware.com/en-us/primo-cache/purchase.html I'm not getting a very warm fuzzy about ordering this. It has been more than two weeks now, and this page is still not linked from the...

Re: [2014-04-16] PrimoCache 1.0.1 released!
The website is still a bit messed up. It now has a web page for PrimoCache ordering. But then everything on the page refers to Primo Ramdisk. It makes it extremely unclear as to if this means there is an error in the webpage, of if the same license will work for both...

Re: Are SSDs really worth it?
I imagine the benefits of hybrid vs ssd and cache software is going to depend on your use case. But of course there are the generic considerations: Hybrid Drive: + Nothing additional to buy. + Easy. Plug in and use. + Very safe write caching. (e.g. No chance of losing data in solid state memory, do ...

Re: Are SSDs really worth it?
I swear by them. The real question is not if SSD's are worth it, but what is the best way to use them. So far the most reliable way to use them seems to be just as a normal drive. Buy one big enough, and make it your boot drive. Even if you bios does not support directly booting to the SSD, you can ...

Re: System fast, but unstable
As I said, my wife has uninstalled primo-cache, and probably won't install it again unless I can tell her to a fair degree confidence the problem has been fixed. So I have now been using primo-cache on my desktop. We both use the same virus scanner, and both the same brand of SSD. Mine is a regular ...

Re: System fast, but unstable
If you are looking for software that would conflict with primo-cache, then the first thing I would look at is the virus scanners. They probably inject themselves at just a low of level as primo-cache in order to detect and block root kits and other malicious software. My wife has Bitdender Total Sec...

Re: System fast, but unstable
Nope. No disk defrag. It just starts off unstable and becomes more unstable (applications crashing more frequently) until the computer crashes. Then windows runs a scan disk, primo-cache resets itself, and the whole thing starts again. My wife decided not to try another caching solution, but instead...

Re: System fast, but unstable
No, sadly I did not realize the pagefile had to be on C drive for it to write the dumpfile... My wife finally got discouraged with her applications constantly crashing and removed primo-cache from her computer. So no more testing for now. I might try installing primo-cache on my computer just to se...
