Request: Able to restore cache upon crash

I wonder if it would be possible to implement a function that can restore a cache that has gotten wiped in case your system crashes for whatever reason? Twice I've had my whole cache wiped, once due to a gpu driver install issue, second time a game crashed hard for me.

Re: L2 cache lost (wiped) on crash

Late reply from me - thanks for your answer.

So, a game crashed for me causing a reboot, and I got my second wipe of my entire cache. Most annoying, isn't there a way to prevent this from happening? :(

L2 cache lost (wiped) on crash

So, I had a crash in Windows when messing around with updating graphics card drivers, which led to Windows rebooting. Nothing major, BUT, my entire L2 cache was wiped and reset, and now it will have to be built up again from scratch. I'm not sure if the crash actually happened because of the graphic...

Caching of big files

I'm using Primocache primarily to cache my game disk, hdd, to a small 80 gig ssd drive, using L2 read cache only. I've noticed a very nice boost in loading performance for the games I play, so I can say it works perfect for my needs. My question is this - I have one game that has almost all of its d...

Re: Registration key query

That article you linked to by Jeff Vogel was a very good read - and oh so true! Quote of the day therfore will have to be: "Whenever you find yourself starting a sentence with, 'I don't want people to pirate my game(*), so I am going to ...' you are very close to making a big mistake." (* ...

Re: Disable/Limit Windows File System Cache in favor of FC

The difference is that the "regular" windows file cache in this case is faster than the L2 cache used by fancycache when utilizing memory above the ~3.5 gigabyte limitation put in place by 32-bit Windows. In no way do the normal filecache slow things down, I don't understand why you believ...

Re: Disable/Limit Windows File System Cache in favor of FC

I must say I'm still rather amazed at the number of people that completely fails to understand how Windows file caching works. Everywhere I read about people wanting to disable it, force it to use less ram and so on. Read this and learn, once and for all, how Windows file caching works. Windows cach...

Re: Re-configure without re-boot?

Rebooting releases all cached data anyway, afaik?

Re: Registration key query

As most RAM disk vendors offer little more than a jazzed-up version of the Microsoft DDK sample RAM disk code anyone can compile, I think it's fairly obvious VSuite/Primo stand out above the competition with head and shoulders. If you don't want to give them your money, fine; but you'll be hard pre...

Re: Right Click "Add to cache"

Add a right click for files and folders "add to cache". With long write defer this basically makes FC a dynamic RAM drive. I second this request. This would make it easy to prioritize specific applications on demand. Could see usefulness for this for me as a gamer, caching up that disk in...
